Christine Lagarde, head of the IMF

What a huge loss for France ! I guess we can still be proud.
She was until now the French Minister of Economic Affairs, Finances and Industry but will from July 5th be the first woman to head the International Monetary Fund.

After Dominique Strauss Kahn resignation a few weeks ago, we all know why, she proposed her candidature to the five-year-term managing position in one of the most important intergovernmental organizations.
She used her past international experiences and her solid background in law, business and finance to convince. Even if this might looks like a small victory the hard part hasn't started yet for her and the global financial institution she will be leading from now on.

The "TO DO list" from the IMF will be very difficult to head in the next few months with of course, in TOP 1, the Greek crises and the uncertainty that seems slowly to emanate of it and affect European countries.
It will not be an easy task to restore confidence in this global economic world without overlooking the emerging markets who will probably in the coming years play an essential role in the future economic stability.

Mme Lagarde is certainty a woman of power and we can only wish her good luck.
